That words may be given to opening my mouth boldly, to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains.
Ephesians 6:19-20
Hi Everybody, I’m Alive!
Wow! It has been a while, hasn’t it? Our squad spent all of last month in amazing Ethiopia, Africa. My team, as well as five other teams, spent the month working at an organization called HopeEthiopia. The organization is located literally in the middle of nowhere, Africa, SO there was absolutely NO wifi (shocker).
Now that my squad is safely at debrief in Kigali, Rwanda, I actually have wifi to post about some of the awesome and amazing moments that happened during this past month. I have vlogs ready to go, but first I would like to share an SYS Documentary with you.
This documentary highlights a woman we stayed with, named Worke. Worke is the kitchen manager at HopeEthiopia, an NGO serving orphans, widows, and local farmers. Worke works alongside mission teams and is a powerful spiritual leader, and a source for compassion to all those in the compound. She loves the Lord and was even imprisoned because of her belief under the Ethiopian socialist party during her childhood. In this documentary, Worke “cooks up” her testimony (you’ll understand the pun once you watch the video).
I am so excited to share my experiences from Ethiopia with you all, so that you can enjoy and share with others.
It is my desire that Worke’s testimony will bring hope to those struggling with persecution, or even to those facing everyday challenges that seem insurmountable. Her testimony demonstrates her faith in the Lord, and her incredible love for Him.
I pray that one day, my faith is as strong as Worke’s, and that I will always know that no matter how bad a situation is, the Lord always has my back.
Enjoy!
See you soon (In Vlogs),
Matt
