South Africa was incredible! At the end of the month, my mom was able to visit for 5 days on this thing called “Parent Vision Trip” to do ministry and life together overseas.

We were able to go to a life skills program that teaches lower income, young adults some “basic” life skills, trains them, and sets them up to get jobs. While we were there, we went over finding a purpose in life, working through emotions, and how God works through it all.

We spent an early afternoon evangelizing in a mall where we met a store owner and were able to encourage him, pray with him, and pick up a devotional for him.

We also were able to visit a large African market where we both got our fill of loud, grabby venders trying to haggle with us. We went on a safari, saw traditional African dancers, ate South African brai (BBQ), and danced in the rain!

My mom also almost completely replaced the clothes in my pack as some of them were getting holes.

Overall, we I had INCREDIBLE conversations, joined in group worship, testimonies, and teachings, played some spicy Uno with other parents and Racers, and talked late, late into the night about things of the past, what we’re walking through in the present, and soooo many wonders of the future.

Last but certainly not least, the last night there, my mom decided to stand up and dedicate her life to the Lord in front of all of the other Racers and parents. It was the sweetest of moments and a night I plan to cherish for the rest of my life.

I tried not to have any expectations walking into PVT, but I also knew that I could expect God to move in big ways.

He surely blows my hopes, my dreams, and my plans out of the water!!

Praise God!

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Romans 10:8-10

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:11-13
