As I walked through the red light district last night in Bangkok, Thailand, I found myself looking at the women lining the streets with so much confusion.. wondering how they got to where they are, wondering if they know there is more to life, if they know how valuable they are.
There were actually sections of stools where the girls sat on display as their pimp stood over them getting the attention of people walking down the street.
I honestly wanted to get a picture to share with you but I couldn’t wrap my mind around capturing such an awful sight.. to capture these living, breathing, loving, hurting, children of God..
Then I saw one of the sections with nothing but empty stools. That, I thought, I could get a picture of. I felt slightly relieved to not see women there, but in that moment I realized that the lot of empty stools was worse than the lots filled with women. Each of those stools represented a woman who was off somewhere being purchased.
