We arrived in Ecuador on Wednesday night (10/11/17), the past few days have been spent recovering from our 30(+) hour bus ride from Colombia. This Monday my team and I will begin teaching English at a nearby high school! We are working with Inca Link in Quito, Ecuador- they have many ministry opportunities for our squad. Some teams are working at camps for children with disabilities, harvesting food for that camp, working with orphans, and serving in dumpster communities- just to name some of the ways we will be serving this month.
I am so excited to be in the school for one month- so my team and I will be able to build intentional relationships with the children and our hosts at Inca Link! The culture here is so beautiful- just a disclaimer: I am not one who really enjoys physical touch, but here in Ecuador personal space is never an option. So, I am growing. Our hosts are the most kind-hearted people I have come across- they are so joyful, constantly giving their all to us, and have such pure hearts. I feel so at peace here in Ecuador.
Thank you to everyone praying for me and my squad. Thank you for believing in me and the work the Lord is doing for me. I am learning the value and importance of community, and I wanted to take the time to thank every person who thinks of me and this journey. God has opened so many doors, I still don’t understand how the funds are there. But the money is there for me to continue, and I am so thankful! It is extremely humbling when the Lord blesses you beyond what you thought was possible.
