Well everyone I have made it to Sombor, Serbia safe with my team and it has been a great time so far! Our host Zoli has been nothing but gracious and someone who truly has a heart for God! Our mission here in Serbia is to minister to this community and spread by the Gospel and be disciples to a group of people who seem very sad and discouraged over years past. This country has seen nothing but war, loss and despair in the 20th century. This is why maybe most of the people you see walk down the streets seem very passive and not interested in hearing anything from us Americans. I was reminded of how much they hate Americans, a couple of times on this trip. I have been approached and heard slurs and foul language thrown my way because of where I was born. I started to get defensive and upset but as I started reading my bible I came across a verse that made me have to reevaluate my feelings.
John 15:18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind it hated me first.”
This was an amazing reminder to me and I definitely needed to hear it. I will keep pursuing because I know for a fact that Gods love can break down any wall even if it comes from years of hatred.
Much Love,
Mack
