The World Race is for Parents, Too!!
Trusting God’s provision for your Racer’s every need:
Financially, as He abundantly provides funding. Your Racer may be blessed to be fully funded before they launch, or you may see God steadily, faithfully provide to meet each deadline one by one.
Physically, as He equips with stamina to carry their packs – you know how much they weigh – and as He enables each Racer, regardless of their limitations, to fully engage in ministry.
Emotionally, as He teaches our Racers to live in community, in vulnerability, in truth, in love.
Spiritually, as He gently removes things from their lives that threaten their total reliance on Him, and replaces those things with the character of Jesus Christ.
Resting in God, knowing that He is in control when:
Your Racer’s passport or their prized personal belongings are lost or stolen.
Your Racer becomes ill, injured, or hospitalized on another continent. Or when your Racer is unable to travel with their squad to a new country due to unexpected issues.
Your Racer is missing holidays, deaths, births, weddings, graduations and special occasions.
Your Racer is struggling to “press in” to God, or is challenged to address issues in their past and present.
Investing for 11 months in new (or not so new) ways:
You may find God allowing you to invest by giving financial support to other Racers.
You may find God asking you to invest in your Racer by making car, insurance or other payments.
You may also find God urging you to take a step back and allow others to invest in your Racer.
You may find God leading you to “adopt” your Racer’s pet, plants or become their storage unit.
You may find God compelling you to read blogs, of not just your Racer’s teammates, but also squad mates, blogs of squads who launched the same month, and blogs of racers who launched ANY time, or haven’t yet launched.
You may find God prompting you to invest in prayer, anytime day or night, for any Racer, team or squad.
Privileges and rewards you cannot image:
You may find God at work in your own life, as well as your Racer’s; always pursuing, loving, and challenging to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.
You will very likely fall in love again. And again. And again. And again. With your Racer’s team, their squad and their parents and with God.
You should expect to experience a vast range of emotions: excitement, loneliness, love, hurt, joy, sadness, fear, comfort, heartbreak, peace and pride.
You definitely will have the TRIP of a lifetime on the World Race!!
