Before I delve into why I left Lesotho early, let me give you a quick rundown of how my time there went.
Lesotho was truly a country to remember. The Lord taught me so much about boldness and confidently being who I am called to be in Christ.
Our month involved house visits, playing with kiddos, and weeding! I had to step out of my comfort zone so much this month. We had to share scripture, what it meant to us, pray for people, evangelize. What! That’s terrifying. Something that I learned through all of that…I don’t need to be scared of that because God will equip me with the words I need to say in the moment! I am just a vessel for His work. If my heart is aligned with Him, He will equip me fully and confidently. I just need to be BOLD!
So in the state of being bold, I took a huge leap of faith.
About two weeks into doing ministry in Lesotho, I was asked to be a raised up squad leader. So what does that actually mean? It means my race is changing a little bit. While I will still be participating in ministry with the teams in each country, my main ministry will be to the squad. To cultivate an environment for them to truly be who Christ calls them to be. I will get the opportunity to know my sisters on a deeper level, challenge them to new heights, and encourage them along the way.
Hannah (the other raised up squad leader) and I left Lesotho two weeks early to begin training, learning, and preparing for this next season of our lives. We have spent the past week and a half in South Africa with our leadership team learning just about anything you can think of.
While it was a lot of logistics and guidelines, it was also a lot of growing. I feel more confident than ever for who God has called me to be and I can’t wait to put into practice all I have learned. I know this will be a challenging road, trying to figure out how to lead the squad to the best of my ability, but I’m so excited to leave room for God to work in and through me.
One exercise that we did while training was to create a mission statement and read it to ourselves every morning before starting the day.
My mission statement: To encourage authenticity and trust in order to cultivate a safe environment for people to find the confidence to be who God has called them to be.
So there’s a brief life update. Please be in prayer with me for this next season. I want to be bold and confident, yet gentle and loving. I want to be challenged in striving to be the best leader that I can be. I want to consistently live out my mission statement. I want to change the world.
Fundraising update: I’m SO CLOSE to being fully funded. Please consider partnering with me financially. If you can’t, please share with your network! Look to my last post, Can I Do It?!?, for a fun way to contribute to my mission.
Thank you all so much for reading, praying, and loving me so well!
