Something I’ve been thinking a lot on recently is Gods attention to detail. This month, we are spending our time in rural Panama, which means beaches, mountains, and jungles. When we’re doing ministry in these various locations, all I can think about is the intentionality in how God created these environments to look.
The reflectiveness of the sand at low tide, how the colors of the sky and clouds can be seen on the ground. Every dip and curve on the mountain side to make for stunning views. The green jungle that leaves just enough of an opening for a house to stand.
Last night, we had the incredible opportunity to see the Geminids meteor shower in a place that was unpolluted with light and sound. The team and I laid out in the back yard, snuggled up to one another waiting for the first meteor to strike across the sky. While laying there chatting and laughing, we began picking out different constellations that we knew.
It just hit me, looking at the sky full of more stars than I’ve ever seen before, how detailed our God is. Our universe is infinite and full of trillions of stars, and God placed every single one of them exactly where they are in the sky. He placed them so we could seek out the brightest ones, find “pictures”, find the smallest and biggest, and he placed so many that we get cross-eyed by trying to see them all at once. He even told the meteors where to go and the colors they should be. We saw well over 30 meteors last night all of various sizes, shapes, and colors.
Our God is a God of detail and intention and I’m in awe of his creation.
