Pro tip number one: sleep as much as possible even though you don’t want to
…but you won’t regret staying up and watching a movie til the buses come to take you to the airport.
Wear a sweatshirt so you don’t freeze until a sweet friend lets you borrow hers
And wear something comfy because you’ll probably be wearing it for 48+ hours
Finish your water bottle so you don’t have to chug the whole thing in line for security. Trust me.
Airport bathrooms are perfect for washing your hair, brushing your teeth, washing your face, ect
Take the blanket from the plane always
The training camp airport scenario is real life!! And it’s amazing.
Carefully read the foreigner visa instructions so you don’t have to fill it out four times
Put something on your bag to identify it because everything looks exactly the same. Literally identical.
Always ask if you can see the cockpit in the plane… even if it doesn’t work out
Unexpected conversations. Quality time. Super late nights and super confusing time changes. Airplane food. The excitement of finding a Starbucks in the airport. Movies. Getting your own row on the plane (rare but did occur.) Jammin at baggage claim to new Sam Smith. Stamps, passports and heavy packs. Playing on the moving sidewalk. Travel days… one of my favorite things.
I just have the most unexplainable feeling about being here. India, I love you already.
