Africa. A dusty, sunny dream. A place where dancing is part of a culture that is cultivated in every person from the time they know how to walk. A place where the air smells like a mix of smoke and sunshine. A place where Jesus is moving big. A place I have loved to call home.

These past two months have taught me so much about community, what it looks like to truly love, how big Jesus is and how vast His love is for his children. When I see this country, I see hope. When I look at the twenty eight beautiful children we have had the pleasure of living with this month, I see a group of leaders, dreamers, and world changers. I see uniqueness and brightness in each of them. I have no doubt that they are going to do huge things!

I feel like it’s impossible to sum up my two months in Africa in just a few words. Each day is tangled with strings of memories. Little moments play through my head in a movie that I never want to end.

One thing that really stuck out to me this month is the power of education. My first glimpse of learning here came when Annie and I first observed sixth grade English classes at the primary school across the street from our house. As silly as it may seem, I really have never seen kids so eager to learn. I still don’t know what my future career looks like… but this month I discovered my love for education. I wrote this in my journal:  “I want to work in an environment where I have the opportunity to inspire and encourage kids who might not have that kind of support at home. I want them to know that their opinions and ideas are valued and important. I want to help cultivate them toward realizing their potential in the world and as a child of Jesus!”

Please keep my squad in your prayers as we transition out of Lesotho and into India in the next few weeks. I am sad to leave this place, but I am content knowing that in our leaving, Jesus remains!

I love you, friends. Thank you for reading!
