I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “the best defense is a good offense”. This is something that I believe 100%. If my offense scores more points than my defense allows, we win. Plain and simple.

Something the Lord has been teaching me lately is the importance of using Scripture as offense instead of just defense. So often, we as believers focus more on defending the attacks of the enemy than we do attacking his lies with the truth of the Word of God. When we’re in the midst of a trial, we call out to the Lord and ask Him to come and save us (which He does), but it’s time that we learn to use the tools He has given us to fight before the attack.

Galatians 3:21-22 “Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by law. But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.”

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin.

They have divine power to demolish strongholds.

When we look at the Armor of God, we’re only given one offensive weapon; the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. If that’s all we’re given, I’m positive that’s all we need. The Lord is teaching me different ways to use the Word, and I want to share a few of them with you all, and encourage you to begin to do the same if you don’t already.

  1. Start your day in the Word.

  2. Memorize Scripture that declares truth. (Ex. Isaiah 26:3, Colossians 1:21-23, Galatians 4:6-7)

  3. Write down verses and put them places you’ll see them everyday. (Bathroom mirror, reminders on your phone, on your car door)

  4. End your day in the Word.

This is not an all inclusive list, but these are a few things that I’ve began to do in order to stay on the offense in spiritual warfare. If you’re in the middle of a battle, start to attack now, don’t wait.

My prayer for each of you is that you begin to do the same if this is something that you’ve never done, and to encourage those of you who do this regularly to continue in this rhythm.

PS: I’M FULLY FUNDED!! Thank you to each and every one of you who has prayed and donated. We’re here in Cambodia serving the Kingdom and couldn’t do it without your prayers.
