Recently at church I was having a conversation with a friend about talking to new people and sharing the Gospel. We came to the conclusion that talking to new people is awkward, uncomfortable, and time consuming. Talking to new people about the Gospel or inviting them to church can be even more awkward, uncomfortable, and time consuming.

As the conversation continued, she brought up her favorite movie Beauty and the Beast, and I was a little confused as to how it related to sharing the Gospel. She mentioned a scene in the new live acting version where Belle says “Forever can spare a minute.” She then told me to replace “forever” with “someone’s eternity.” Wow. Talk about a slap in the face. Someone’s eternity can spare an awkward conversation. Someone’s eternity can spare being uncomfortable. Someone’s eternity can spare a minute.

I’ve decided to take that as a challenge when it comes sharing the Gospel or inviting people to church. I would like to challenge each of you to do the same. Get uncomfortable. Have an awkward conversation. Take time out of your day to invest in someone’s forever. A person coming to know the love of the Father and spending eternity with Him is so much more important than being comfortable or whatever other plans I may have. Forever can spare a minute.

FUNDRAISING UPDATE: I am completely overwhelmed by the generosity of people and their giving towards this trip! To all who have been praying and have given, THANK YOU!! I am currently about $6,500 away from being fully funded! If you feel led to give, you can do so on the home page of my blog.

Thank you for partnering with me as I prepare for this journey! God Bless,
