this month. something i could not have dreamed up on my own. this month i got to hop outside of my normal american bubble, and live and breath not just to be alive– but live and breath for my passions. this month i got to dance, be free, be really truly FULLY alive.

just about a month ago i hopped on a plane to atlanta, georgia having no idea the things the Lord had in store. i got to meet the team after being in georgia for about a week, and truly my socks were knocked off by the way that they all loved and supported so well after had only being strangers just a few days prior. we trained hard over a couple of days, did team building activities, lots of spiritual activations, and they cut off lots of chains from the enemy that had been holding them back with. truly a powerful weekend of worship, growth, and unity among the team.

then! it was all over before we knew it knew it & we were off to the beautiful country of eswatini– made a (not so) quick 35 hour travel day flying from Atlanta to Doha, doha to Johannesburg and then bused 6 hours to finally arrive in Eswatini.

upon arrival we got to settle in and familiarize ourselves with the city of Manzini where we resided this month, and we began to make relationships with the vendors and people we would cross paths with in the coming weeks.

tuesday through fridays our ministry this month consisted of working with care points where around one hundred kids a day consistently come for feedings. we got to love and care for the kids that came from 9 am until 4 pm each day. this consisted of just sitting with each of these kids and loving them and giving the attention that they most likely lack to get at home, as African parents tend to be busy caring and providing for the family. Mondays we got to go into the manzini market where locals get to rent booths to sell products that they locally make and sell. this was truly one of my favorite experiences, because our ministry was to simply love and befriend people, which, should always be our ministry in and out of America– so i loved that.

however, my role this time around looked a bit different. i was not the participant this time. ministry hours weren’t from 9-4, but instead they were twenty four hours, all day everyday. i had to change my mindset from going hard from 9-4, to instead learn how to exert myself to where i would be conscious, willing, and available all day everyday. my role as a leader this month means that my ministry was to disciple and lead the participants with the same love that I’ve been discipled with as my leaders on past missions trips, which ultimately comes from Jesus.

this month the lord did so much with my heart. this month was stretching, but in new ways. but– you will have to wait and read my next blog to find out how ahah. stay tuned.
