Hola! (Look at my Spanish skills from living in South America, go ahead) Let me begin this blog with an apology that I totally dropped the ball the last month on writing blogs. I am so very sorry, but let me catch you up to speed.

You may have read some where that I was having some problems with my wisdom teeth and that I might even get them out in a third world country. Haha, well let me assure you — this was no rumor. Yep. I had wisdom teeth surgery in a third world country. No worries, I have completely recovered and the surgery went amazing and better than I could have imagined.

As stated in the prayer request in my last blog, I went with a team of about 8 other squadmates to a nearby city called Latacunga for a week. This truly was one of my favorite weeks of the race. We worked with an Orphanage called For His Children. This orphanage focused a lot on kiddos with special needs, but they had a combination of normal needs kiddos as well. This was such an awesome week for me because I love people, I love kids, and I love helping. Not to mention, I fell in love with missions in an orphanage in Haiti. This week really opened my eyes to special needs, and I was left shocked what the Lord did in my heart. I remember working with special needs at several points in my life for maybe a day or two, and being so uncomfortable and especially not knowing what to do. But then, the Lord grabbed hold of that this week and broke it down. I realized how truly selfish I was being and that these kiddos are just like any other person in this world, they just want to be loved. Not only want it, but need it. I spent the week being drooled all over, playing ring and the rosey with a blind boy, and feeding all kinds of babies with the most generous cheeks. Definitely one of my favorite weeks of this journey thus far.

THEN CAME LDW. For those of you who don’t know this acronym, LDW stands for Leadership & Discipleship Weekend. They’re essentially a much smaller debrief, where we rest and gain some much needed wisdom from our leadership team. It was super fun, and pleasant to rest after a week where the Lord did so much in my life.

Since being back to our home here in Ecuador my team and I have been finishing our job that you may have read in my previous blog — we did a whole lot of hard work and digging. But, at last we finished that job last week.

NOW — my ministry is currently helping our ministry host around the compound that we live in. We help in the garden, we are organizing and building shelves for a storage room in one of the houses. Lots of productive things happening here.

Thanks for reading y’all. PEACE AND BLESSINGS.
