Ever since I was a junior in high school, my DREAM has been to go on the world race gap year. I have had a burning desire to go on this journey. To graduate high school, travel the world, and among all of these – spread the Word of Jesus to all I come in contact with during these nine months abroad. Those two years of dreaming turned into reality 6 days ago when I arrived at launch in Atlanta, Georgia. I was officially going to embark on this journey I have dreamed and felt called to for so long. We were to fly out monday evening to my first country, India. However, one thing led to another and due to the weather Hurricane Irma was bringing to the Atlanta area our first flight was cancelled. But you can bet that didn’t dull my spirit of going on this incredible journey I have been craving for so long. We spent the night on the floor in a gym of a church about an hour outside of Atlanta (welcome to the world race, right?) After being delayed 24 hours, we finally got to fly out of Atlanta. Tuesday around 7 o’clock I stepped foot on the plane taking me to my dreams, but more than that – my calling. After multiple long flights, (13 hours to Qatar + 4 to Mumbai) I have finally made it to the country of India. I am ecstatic to start ministry here. I never thought that I would find myself in India, but I am so much more than happy to be here. The only thing standing between me now is the remainder of my last layover here in Mumbai. Around 1:25 today, which its Thursday here already – holla !! – I will be boarding my last plane to begin this journey. I will meet up with the other half of my squad at the Adventures in Missions base in Hyderabad, India for some last minute training & resting; to say I’m jet lagged doesn’t even tell you the half of it, but I am B L E S S E D!!!!! In just a few days I will take an 8 hour bus to Ongole, India where I will be doing ministry and living for the remainder of my first month before I head to Nepal next month. I cannot tell you all how blessed I feel to be where I am. I love you all for the support and love I’ve been shown. You are all apart of this journey. Thanks for reading – ill be updating frequently.
