FOMO.

Fear
Of
Missing
Out

What a funny thing.

As humans we want to suck up all of the good, fun and dreamy that this life has to offer.

I want to see all the sunrises, sunsets and sunflowers around the world; all of the shows and the movies I can.

I want to meet all the people, hear all their stories and know their heart.

But as humans, we cannot do it all. There is just not enough time in the day or enough room in our hearts.

Recently, I have been struggling with intimacy with the Lord. How does He speak to me? How can I discern Him and my own thoughts? Am I just not listening close enough?

My heart loves to serve-it fills it up with joy. I think I get this from my mom-who continuously bends over backwards for me.

Serving simultaneously fills me up and takes all that I have. This can simply be maintained only by spending time with our heavenly Father.

This makes our relationship with Jesus the most important relationship we have. I mean ~come on~ read it again if ya have to. We can go to Jesus with ALL THE THINGS.

He made us. He knit us in our sweet, sweet mama’s wombs. He picked YOU to walk on this Earth because He didn’t want to make a world without someone like you in it.

He loves us SO MUCH. He sent his only Son to the world so that we could have a relationship with Him.

Jesus wants to walk through life with you. He wants to know all about your day-the good the bad the ugly and the dreamy.

During debrief in Ghana, I chatted with our Coach Angie about my struggles with intimacy with the Lord. And you know what she told me?

You should have FOMO (fear of missing out) about spending time with the Lord.

You heard me-FOMO about our time with Jesus-this totally switched my perspective.

I am learning what this looks like for me-and I don’t know about you but I want to know my Maker-the one who knows every part of me. A relationship with Jesus will lead you to a full and complete life. He can show you why He made you the SPECIFIC way He did.

So, let’s have FOMO with our time with Jesus. Stay up a little later, wake up a little earlier, or whatever else it takes. Spend time with your maker-He wants to show you how to maneuver through this crazy life and He wants to walk ya through it.
