How did we get to the Ivory Coast??

Well, let me tell ya.

Flight #1
?First we took a plane from Atlanta to Washington D.C. Our flight was at 5 or so in the morning…so once we arrived in D.C. we were already all off because well..we had been awake for hours. Before even taking off, I fell asleep and slept the entire flight. Once we landed I honestly thought we were taking off because time had past so quickly. In D.C. we explored the airport and ate Chipotle as our last meal in America. It was ten in the morning….but that was not going to stop us. After eating, I took a solid nap in an airport chair.

Flight #2
?Our next flight was to Ethiopia (wayyyyyy past the Ivory Coast). This flight was about eleven hours…but we sat on the plane for an hour or so before even taking off. I did not even realize honestly because I fell asleep almost right after sitting in my seat on the plane. On this flight I chatted with my pal Hannah for a while, watched a few movies, ate a few meals, and took lots of naps. The time honestly went by very quickly. By the time we landed, the time difference did not even matter because we were so off our normal time zone.

Flight #3?
In Ethiopia, we only waited for approximately thirty minutes before going on our next plane. This flight I sat in the middle BUT it was the aisle behind the bathroom, so we had LOADS of room. It was wonderful. This flight was six hours. Again, I ate, napped, and watched movies. Even though I rested A LOT on each flight, I was SO exhausted when we arrived.

Bus #1?
Once we went through customs, we waited for about an hour or so before finally getting on bus number one. I chatted with some pals around me and then, yet again I fell asleep fairly quickly. This night we stayed in a hostel and they cooked a delicious meal for us.

Taxi #1?
We woke up at 5 in the morning to ensure we would not miss our 6 am taxi ride to the bus station. The ride was funny because it seemed as if the driver would hit people or other cars, but he never did. People ran along side the taxi to give directions to where we were going. At first this was a little intimidating because we had no idea what they were saying and why they kept coming up to our windows and chatting with us.

Bus #2?
We waited at the bus station for a hot minute. Once the bus finally arrived we squished into our seats with our day packs on top of us. This bus ride was five hours. It was very warm and it seemed to last forever.

Van #1?
Once we finally reached Bouake (!!!!), we took a bus to reach our home for the next month. When we squeezed into this car, someone was on the roof (????) for a while, then we dropped someone off and our roof pal became our driver. It kind of seemed like musical cars. We dropped someone off and some people switched again.

FINALLY, three planes, two buses, a taxi, and a van later we arrived to our home for the next month.

And now, the adventure begins.

P.S. Sorry this is my first blog-wifi is very very minimal-but all is well!!!!
