What’s up party people! Sorry for not keeping up with blogging recently. But I gotta say, lack of WiFi means I don’t really think about writing… and then we had debrief. Man, I love debriefs. I just don’t blog when I’m at ‘em. I’m surrounded by 45 awesome humans and want to be with them, not on my computer.
For those of you that don’t know, every few months we have squad debriefs- planned by our lovely logistic-ers (they also plan our travel days). Essentially debrief is a time for our mentor and coaches to come out and speak some truth into us while we get to rest. Also, good food, hot (sometimes) showers, and beds. Truly the good life. I had the Rwandan version of Chipotle and literally teared up when they gave me my burrito with guac. Some things just get me super emotional, ya know? All this aside, debrief is my extroverted dream. But also… man, I have the best friends on this squad.
Nonetheless, I’ll just give you a quick update on my last couple weeks. And give the ole’ college try on being better at blogging for the remainder of my time in Africa.
As we finished debrief all of our teams went our separate ways to our ministry sites for the next couple weeks. Our time with our host is cut pretty short because of debrief and PVT this month! AKA I GET TO SEE JMONEY AND STEVEO (my parents, for those of you that don’t know me). More on that later.
For now we are teaching, preaching, and doing door to door evangelism. Rwanda may just be sneaking into my favorite country… The kids? Adorable. The adults? Amazingly kind. The scenery? Beautiful and surprisingly lush. The worship? Incomparable to anything. The ministry? Fulfilling. The days? Exhausting.
It’s the good life.
