I got this idea from Kendall Adams so everyone should also go read hers, but these are a few questions I asked my parents/siblings!

The first answers are Jared’s, then my dads, moms and the last ones are Morgan’s!

Tell a funny story (your favorite) about me as a kid?
? playing power rangers with you and Morgan in the front yard
? when you and your sister carved pumpkins, cot out the bottom and wore them on your heads
? you were learning to ride your bike w/o training wheels…you started going down the driveway collecting speed and without stopping or trying to slow down went right off the driveway into the ditch, head over heels you went!!!your body disappeared and your bike wheels were sticking straight up in the air????I laughed so hard I almost wet my pants…I walked down the driveway to see if you were ok and you pushed your bike off of you, went right back up the driveway and tried again
? my favorite story about you as a kid always revolves around our imaginations. I remember making up the absolute strangest games and playing them for hours. I’ll leave it at that

what’s the longest you think I’ve gone without showering?
? 2-3 weeks
? 2 weeks
? at home 5days- on the race 8 days
? easily a week

what did you think about me going on the race? initial thoughts and now?
? was happy for you
? I did not want you to do it. I was concerned and scared for your safety. Now? I am still scared and concerned for your safety, but I realize that this is what you wanted to do
? initially? Totally freaked me out and I was considerably anxious…its a long time and a long ways away. Now?its exactly where you need to be and what you need to be doing
? When I first found out you wanted to go to five different countries in 9 months, I was very hesitant to be supportive. With all the craziness in the world, I was being selfish and didn’t want you to leave me or have anything happen to you while you were in these strange countries. I quickly realized I needed to support you and encourage you to do things like this & make a difference in the world. Now I am so so happy you took this leap of faith because you have learned (and taught) so many things!!!

whats the weirdest thing you thought i packed?
? I don’t know what you packed

? a lot of weird people out there- not as much
? me not there protecting you. Yes
? your safety in foreign places when im thousands of miles away. Am I still scared? ABSOLUTELY…it’s a mother thing
? Most scared of… definitely the fear of something could easily happen to you while you were away, then I realized.. something could easily happen to any one of us on any given day. I still pray each night for your safety and know you are in His hands. Throughout the months I have been a lot more comfortable with you being away

whats one thing that has happened that you didn’t expect?
? Cliff diving
? Jumping off a cliff
? What I didn’t expect- for you to jump off a mile high cliff in just a little bitty swing…having the ability to text and FaceTime to keep in touch and see your face!!! That’s been a great bonus
? I didn’t expect you to get dreads but SO glad you did Hahahah

if you could trade places with me, would you? why or why not?
? No
? no- I like my couch in butler county
? Absolutely!!! I think it would be an awesome and totally gratifying experience
? I would absolutely love to see all the places you have seen and experience all the things you have experienced, but I don’t think I would be focused or in the right mindset to do what you’re doing

what have i taught you through the race?
? Be closer to God
? that it’s hard to let your kids go
? I’ve learned to let go and trust God with your well being which has been not as difficult as I would have thought. Your a big girl and I’m glad you persisted in this adventure and followed God’s urging
? you have taught me so many things. Throughout your posts, blogs, and our messages back and forth you have helped me realize a lot about myself and my relationship with the Lord

? For sure
? Yes
? are you kidding me…YES!! How awesome would that be
? Heck ya

would you want me to do the race again?
? you can do whatever you want to do
? no- but if you did I would support you 100%
? absolutely…if you felt the calling
? if that is what you feel called to do, I would support you 100% and want you to do it again. But I would rather you use your talents and gifts here ??

what kinds of weird foods did you expect me to eat?
? Shark
? Goats head
? Crickets..fried worms..I didn’t expect you to like as much as you have
? Not sure??

? No
? No
? Friends with parents- definitely- your immediate squad of 8-now 7- girls…us moms all exchanged phone numbers at launch and have conversations quite frequently. It’s been great getting to know them. ? zero
? 3 1/2
