“If you’re okay, I’m okay.”
These are the words that my sweetest mama shares with me before we say our goodbyes and our I love yous over FaceTime. Her heart is gold and oh how she makes me feel like the most magical human on earth.
to you she may be..
a sister
a nurse
a daughter
an aunt
a friend
a classmate
a grandma
a wife
a cousin
the neighbor who loves her flower garden
the biggest fan in the crowd
But we, we call her mom.
My mama, Susie, is one of the most important people in my life. Her love and support through this journey has been everything my heart would need. The person my heart has needed all my life. This has been one of the hardest but also one of the greatest seasons of my life. Thank you for always being there for me in everything I do. Thank you, Lord, for letting her be ours.
She has taught us all of the things growing up; from being in the kitchen, finding things in the grocery store, giving to those in need, to never give up, passion, changing a diaper, showing compassion, loving our neighbors and that’s just to name a few, but one I’m most grateful for is my faith. You and dad taught us the importance of our faith and I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for your everlasting love and prayers.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mama! Enjoy your weekend, week, month and years. Wish I was there to tell you how lovely I think you are. How fortunate it is to call you mom. If you see this beautiful one soon please give her an extra squeeze for me. Just a little under 6 weeks and I’ll be hugging you myself.
Hey, mama;
As always, if you’re okay, I’m okay!
I love you,
Kristen
