I would like to ask for a few specific prayer requests this weekend and for the days ahead. This month my team and I have been serving at a babies home here in Zimbabwe. Our days consist of playing, snacking, singing, playing some more and loving these babes as much as our hearts can. We also get to be near and build relationships with the caretakers. Oh, what joy they all are!
In this home they have taken in abandoned and orphaned babes. At the current time they have 20 children. A few days ago we found out that the older children will be leaving to go to another home. When they reach a certain age they make this transition.
This Monday, 9 out of the 20 children, will be moving out. Some of the kids have been talking about it, some choose not too and my heart aches for the caretakers as they prepare for the goodbyes. We’ve been with them for 10 days and it hurts to think about it so I can’t even imagine what they are feeling.
If you could join us in praying this weekend and next and weeks to come…
- For every adjustment that will be taking place.
- For the 8 boys and 1 girl that are leaving the only home they’ve ever known. That they will feel the comfort of Jesus.
- As they have had the chance to visit their new home; I pray that their hearts will be excited in knowing where they are going. Seeing old friends that had left before them.
- Praying for the 11 younger children who may not understand quite yet.
- Mighty prayers for the matron, supervisor and caretakers who have loved them like their own over their short years of life.
- Prayers financially that they will continue to have sponsors or receive sponsors.
- On Monday morning at 9am they will be leaving. Join us in prayer Sunday night (because, time zones) for all the gentle goodbyes.
I pray that these prayers will continue to plant seeds into their young hearts and that they will ultimately know that the Lord is their greatest caretaker. He has gone before each of us and knows exactly what we need.
Thank you for taking the time to send some sweet prayers for these babes.
Much love.
