Meet Mamopeli. A mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a baker, and so much more.

She has a smile that will light up a room. Her joy is contagious and she has a gentleness about her that will make you crave to be around her.
We met this sweet soul on our first day in Mokhotlong, Lesotho as we were walking out of church. Wrapped so snuggly on her back was her youngest babe who was just born in December.

My teammate, Ashley, and I went to visit Mamopeli on one of our mornings of ATL. This is a day we have ministry but we “ask the Lord” what it would look like. As we arrived to her shop we asked if we could help her in any way. She was happy to see us, as she always was when we would pass her shop while walking to the church or the garden. That morning Ashley and I ended up helping out with food, the babe, and the dishes. We cooked up some pap, which is similar to our grits at home, a warm spinach salad, and for the meat we cooked up some mutton (lamb).

As Ashley and I helped in the morning the Lord was stirring in our hearts to do something for this sweet mama. How could we bless her as she does so much for the community? As we worked around the shop we noticed that maybe she could use some more storage space. We asked Mamopeli if a shelf or cabinet would be helpful in her workspace and she humbly responded with, “yes.”

We prayed that the Lord would reveal to us the perfect cabinet or shelf for her space. We didn’t want to get anything that was too large or too small but just the right one for her bakery. A couple days later we went searching at a hardware store in town. We got discouraged as many of the pieces there were only sold in threes and was a bit out of the budget we had in mind.
We continued to look around the store and I thought, “we should ask the hardware employee if they have a cabinet piece that comes in the one and not the whole set.” We found the lady to ask her as she had answered several of our questions already that day. She told us to wait a moment as she went to ask someone in that department. They came back to get us and said they could show us one that they had. We walked over with them and we were so pleased with what we saw. It was just what we were hoping for and was in the price range.

My heart was praising God for His goodness. It was just what we had in mind for Mamopeli’s bakery and He delivered. In His beautiful and precious timing. The most wonderful thing to see was her face as we drove up in the delivery truck from the hardware store. That contagious smile and joy about life that lit up the yard.

Thank you, my wonderful supporters, as we continue to give and be light to those all over the world. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you, sweet Jesus, for your never ending guidance and love to all of your people. What a beautiful time it was in Lesotho.
Much love to all.
