Almost four years ago I spent a couple of weeks in the beautiful country of Costa Rica.
My first time out of the country.
My first mission trip.
My first time truly seeing the world through Jesus’ eyes.
And while these are just a handful of firsts, I knew they certainly wouldn’t be my last.
I knew that I was being called to go to all the ends of the earth to serve for short term mission trips. A couple of years later I found myself going on adventures to Kenya and Turkey.
Since 2014 I have served as the Children’s Pastor at GracePoint Community Church in Wichita and have loved everything about it. It has been one of the things that I have been most proud of and most definitely called to do. I have learned what it is like to truly live in community and minister to those around me. The kids and families will forever have my heart.
In a season of singleness (well, pretty much my entire life) I wasn’t ready to let that go. I wanted more one-on-one time truly adventuring with Jesus. I will be graduating with my Master’s at Tabor College this May and have spent many nights praying what the next season of my life would look like.
With the love and support of family, friends, and church family I shared with them about my heart of the World Race. I applied and was accepted in late January of 2017 to go on this once in a lifetime adventure. So, this fall, the Lord is leading me to serve with Adventures in Missions on The World Race. The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. I will be traveling to Europe, Africa, Asia, and Central America. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution due to human trafficking, and we will bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
I am more than excited and just maybe a tad terrified, but I know that I won’t be doing this alone. I have the utmost amount of faith in God and know that where He is leading me, I will go. The Lord has and will always have a hold of my heart.
My next step is to start building a team who will partner with me in both prayer and financial support. My hope is to be fully funded by the time I launch with my squad in August. I need to raise $18,017 to cover all my field expenses for the 11 months that I am on the mission field. If you would like to donate you can simply hit the Donate! tab at the top of my blog page. If you would like to be a prayer partner, please Subscribe for Updates to receive my email updates both on the field and as I prepare these next few months.
Thanks for joining me so far on this adventure. Looking forward to encountering many more firsts in my life and sharing the journey with you.
Let’s move mountains.
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 17:20
