Fun fact for you all… I may or may not have been conceived in Jamaica.
My parents spent years trying to have me. My mom was told that because of her MS she would never be able to get pregnant, let alone carry and deliver a healthy baby to term. My mom knew in her heart that she was going to have a child of her own with her flesh and blood. She was resilient, consistent and determined. And well… here I am! I am a miracle!
On their 5th anniversary my parents headed down to Jamaica and a few weeks later my mom found out that she was pregnant. I will add that while also going to Jamaica my mom and was getting shots every month and was being inseminated at the same time. So I either was conceived in Jamaica or in a jar. Either way I am a miracle. God knew the exact perfect timing and the exact perfect egg and sperm to knit me together in my mother’s womb. That may sound weird and also intensely gross that I am writing about my parents conception of me and you are 100% completely correct. EEEWWWW! But with that I am so thankful. I am so thankful for my God who knew me before I was born. He called me His before the beginning of time and space. He is a God who is outside of time and space. He is the God who was before the beginning of the universe.
In Genesis 1:1-4, “ In the beginning God creates the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.”
God had to have been to be able to create and speak existence into the world. So not only did he create the universe, day and night, mountains, water, heavens, all the animals of the earth as well as humans but he specifically and uniquely created me and you! He chose you! He loves you! He loves me! I am loved so dearly that he needed me to be on earth at the specific time, moment and place for a specific reason and purpose. No one else can do what I can do. I am needed. I make a difference. So as my mom and dad fought for me, so did my Heavenly Father. In fact he sent his son, Jesus, to come to earth to live and die so that I may have life. I am a miracle! I am a child of God.
So I rest and accept that I am a miracle child. It is a miracle I am alive. It is a miracle that I am healthy. It is a miracle that as I write this I am in Jamaica, being able to travel around the world spreading the love of Christ to all! It is a miracle I am who I am. I am a miracle. I AM A MIRACLE! How cool is it that out of everyone on the entire planet, God knew how important it was that I be born. He knit me together and has called me His.
So for the rest of this year and my life, I rest in my miracle. And I say a big thank you to my parents for fighting for me. I say a HUGE thank you to my Heavenly Father who knew me before everything. Who fought for me, knows me, loves me and speaks to me. I am so thankful for everyone that has loved me and continues to love me. I am thankful that I am unique and needed.
I am won by a perfect love.
So as we are getting ready to head out for a day of ministry that we get to go evangelize to the community and tell them about our great God! I get to tell them each and everyone of them that they are a miracle. Their story is a miracle, their life no matter what they have been or gone through is a miracle and they were born to perform Godly miracles through the power of Christ.
I am a miracle. My life is a miracle and I am still so blown away and honored I got to say yes to Christ and this is what he has called me to do right now. I get to grow in my love for God and let the overflow of love pour out and drench every person I come into contact with. I get to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I am his light in a dark world. I get to walk in the victory and authority of Christ while giving all the glory back to him.
So while resting in the fact that I am a miracle, God is also a miracle worker. As I write this I am needing a miracle. I have to fund raise $18,100 for the World Race and have only raised $7,500 right now. I need to have raised $10,000 by April 9. I need your help. I can’t do this without God and your help. Please pray about partnering with me as I continue to spread the love of Christ to the world and donating to my trip. All donations made through my blog: kendrawinnick.theworldrace.org go directly to my trip and are tax deductible. Also I ask that you share this blog on social media and with friends and family to get the word out about my trip.
(Picture above is a gentleman I have been able to talk to and we have been able to build relationship with. He just started a shop and we have been able to sit and talk with him for hours as well as meet so many other locals. From left to right: me, Taz, Jewel and Ashley)
for hours as part of our ministry this month
Thank you and God Bless!
With Love from Jamaica,
Kendra
