As many of you have probably heard, there is another hurricane that will be hitting the Dominican Republic today and tomorrow. HOWEVER, let me just begin by telling you this: I AM SAFE.

In fact, the place that my squad and I are located for the month is actually the SAFEST location for us to be right now. Since we’re on the top of the mountain and away from the ocean, it is very unlikely that we will suffer from any serious damage.

We also have AMAZING ministry hosts who care for each and every one of us deeply. This morning they gave us a rundown of how to react to a hurricane… basically we just have to use common sense and not wander off! However, our ministry hosts have taken extra precautions just in case (For example, boarding up windows, cutting down any dangerous branches, etc. etc.).

Breathe. I’m going to be okay!!

Because the hurricane is expected to hit Lajas de Yaroa (the city that our ministry site is close to), it’s almost 100% likely that we will lose Wifi. SO, if I don’t contact you or can’t receive any of your imessages/emails, DON’T FREAK OUT! It’s most likely just because our Wifi is down that I don’t respond to your worried texts.

Ultimately, God is in control. I have no fear because I am covered by the armor of God! He knew that this hurricane would hit the DR as I was here. HE’S GOT MY BACK. He will protect me and my squad. I am thankful we are here to help clean up any debris or damage post storm. Prayers would still be beyond appreciated for everyone to be safe in the DR as well as the Carribean Islands!
