holaaaa from the Dominican Republic,

I have been here for 4 full days now and have absolutely loved every second of it. After a long and tiring but fun travel day which included a three hour flight and seven hour bus ride, we finally arrived at Hope for the DR!! We have already done so much amazing work after only being here for less then a week. As the afternoon came around, I felt an urge to go ahead and open some letters from home. I opened one I have been wanting to open while I was in America, but I just could not wait. Inside this letter was something super special and something I will never forget. This a devotion that has been in my Memaw`s bible since 1961.

“I refuse to be downed by circumstances. If some situation seems untenable,I place it in Gods hands. I know that there is a way to meet all things and I trust God to show me the way and to give me the strength and courage to carry on. I refuse to cling to the past, to feel that I am not ready for change, or that I will not be able to meet changing conditions. I am ready for what the present holds. I am ready for the steps that are now mine to take. I refuse to believe that someone or something can stand between me and my God or that my own can withheld from me. I know that I am needed for, that I have something to give, and I pray to be shown how I may give more, serve more, express more, of the powers and abilities with which I have been blessed. I let go and let God. I invite my good I expect my goods know that my own comes to me under divine law. With a new heart and a new spirit,I go forward.”

Ya, powerful right?… This devotion has been in her bible since before I was born and she didn’t know why until it hit her that it was for me. I truly believe this was God’s way of showing me through her that this is really my time to go and show his love around the world and plant seeds of his love. I am so excited for the months to come and can not wait for what is in store.
