Mama-

Happy Mother’s Day!!! I’m sad I can’t be there today to celebrate you, but I hope Carrie is doing a good enough job without me somehow;)

Here’s a few things I want to thank you for/memories/just love you a lot because…

When you would work night shifts at the hospital and sleep all day, I remember running into your dark room after I would get home from preschool, wake you up, and walk you through EVERY single second of my day.

Getting out elementary school everyday and running with all my might to get into your arms.

You coming to every soccer game and sitting in the burning heat or freezing cold, cheering me on, and yelling “burrito” when I would be offsides.

When I would call you crying at night and you sang “You are My Sunshine” over the phone until I fell asleep.

Going to your work and seeing how much your patients loved you.

How hard you fought for me those 4/5 years. There are too many things you did during that time to even list. And I know that there are a hundred things you did that I don’t even know about. You were incredible, strong, fearless, stood your ground, and showed me how a woman and a mother should be. You put us before everything and sacrificed everything for us.

Waking up at 5 am (when you had gotten home at 3 am) so we could spend time together before I left your house for the week.

Your work ethic… I have never seen someone work as much as you. Your work was always 100%, you never did anything half hearted. The only time you got off work was dedicated purely to Carrie and I.

You always pushed me when you know I could do better and was there to catch me when I went too far.

When I got my first ticket and thought the world was over, you brought me my favorite starbucks drink.

All those times you called in to excuse me for being tardy and absent;) hahahaha

When I would REALLY mess up and you would forgive me over and over again- something I never deserved but taught me so many lessons about forgiveness, relationships, and love.

Launch. Launch. Launch. Hard conversations, good conversations, goodbyes, and so much love and forgiveness.

Doing ministry with you in the Philippines- probably my favorite week of the race.

I could name so many more memories… the most important thing you’ve ever done my whole life is in all circumstances, in all seasons of life, at all ages, you pointed me to God and prioritized Him above EVERYTHING.

You never let me make excuses or try to fall short, you had us at church at least twice a week, you picked a church solely based on its youth program so I would have a safe place and trusted people during middle and high school, you did everything in your power to turn us towards God.

You are the greatest mother in the world. I know we have low points, I know I’m not an easy daughter to have (seriously, I don’t know how you have raised me), but I am so blessed that God choose you to be my mom. He knew what He was doing because I wouldn’t trade you, the good years, or the hard years for anything. Happy Mother’s Day mama! You mean the world to me and I can’t wait to be in your arms again here in a few weeks!

Love You!!!!!
