malawi.

the warm heart of africa.
my heart is full from this country.
the other night my team and I spent time in prayer. thanking the Lord for the sweetness and goodness of malawi.
it’s really easy for me to write off malawi as hard.
there were many moments filled with tiredness, bitterness and homesickness.
in the midst of the outward frustrations of life here, there are many if not more inward difficulties.
but as we were praying in thanksgiving the Lord spoke to me.
He reminded me to step back.
to look at the past two months and see the small moments.
when I got to teach a student how to read english.
when an 11 year old girl gave her heart to Jesus at a kids camp.
when I got to hold the same baby in my arms every thursday at 9 o’clock and pray over that orphan baby.
when I preached in village churches and the Holy Spirit met us.
when we fed 600 orphan children food and told them about Jesus.
when I stood along side of widowed woman still lifting their tired arms to Jesus and got to encourage them to keep going on.
when I got to share what the Lord has been doing in my life in a hair salon of all places.
when Jesus answered my prayers and made me a third grade teacher.
when Jesus gave me strength while doing the daniel fast all month.
when Jesus gave me the sweetest teammates.

he’s been so good.
so good to me.
malawi has been full.
full of joy.
full of tears
full of jumping and shouting for Jesus.
full of encouragement.
full of His spirit.
and i’m so thankful.

ALSO ps. I finished the daniel fast today. so normal food all around! woot woot.

I leave for Ecuador on March 5th and will immediately upon arrival start an event called the awakening. it’s a four day event that includes two other squads coming together to encourage and pray for one another.

thank you all for your continuous support. prayer for ecuador would be much appreciated 🙂
