Our team is privledged to serve the Testimony Feeding Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this month. Testimony has proven to be a picture of God’s love to the most vulnerable of his children in providing food, education, clothing, spiritual development and LOVE through its dedicated staff and volunteers. Gadisa Birhanu, the founder and manager of Testimony Feeding Center, grew up as an orphan in Ethiopia and has a desire for every child to reach their god-given potential as he has.
In addition to working with the kids of Testimony, Gadisa has seen a need and decided to bring our team to a local refugee camp to serve those who have been displaced due to a conflict at the Ethiopian-Somalian border. We go to the camp twice a week to teach English and math in the mornings and then provide structured play in the afternoons. We play soccer, dance, sing, get our hair braided, and just love on every one of the kids.
In order to get us to the camp we need to rent safe transportation for our team of twelve which comes out to $50 USD per day. Our budget isn’t able to cover the high cost of transportation so Gadisa is paying for it out of his own pocket in order to bless the kids at the camp. We started this GoFundMe in order to cover the cost of transportation to the camp, and if God brings in more than we ask for we would like to gift the overflow to Gadisa and Testimony so that he can continue to bring missions teams to these kids.
