So, preaching.

Most of you know that I was a little bit nervous about preaching throughout the World Race.  I love speaking in front of children, but speaking in front of adults is a whole different ball game. When I found out that our ministry the first month in India was going to different villages and preaching every night, I became extremely self-conscious. I had never preached a sermon before and was worried that I would have no idea what to say to the people of India.

My hesitancy to preach made me think of Moses. God had asked Moses to do big things. He asked Moses to bring the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses didn’t think he was qualified or the best person for the job. But God said, “I will be with you.” (Exodus 3) Moses felt inadequate for the job but God was going to be with him through it all. God sometimes asks us to do difficult things, but He is always with us.

Well, I’m thankful for a team that made sure everyone had a chance to preach twice. There was no getting out of it. Now, I can say that I have already preached twice! It has been a humbling experience as I learn to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to speak through me as I preach. God was with my in those moments and I was able to share the gospel with the people of India!!!

It’s exciting to think it is only month 1 and I feel like I’ve learned so much!

Here I am preaching in a small village. You can see my head is basically touching the roof.  I had to bend down to not get hit by roofs multiple times. My head was almost chopped off by a fan at one point.

Doing laundry. I have not mastered this yet. My clothes smell like nothing else. So great.

Praying at church on Sunday. We are wearing our saree’s that were hand tailored for us. 🙂 This is also the church we stayed in, our host family’s house was downstairs.

We took a weekend to visit Hampi. It was amazing and refreshing. This is me looking cool as I attempt to boulder. Actually its really hard so I just climbed a rock and had someone take a picture. I like climbing rocks. Bouldering is something entirely different. BUT I learned what a crash pad is….and how you use it. haha Hampi is a beautiful place.

These are the most beautiful children you will ever meet. They have so much joy and love in their eyes and they greet us with such enthusiasm every morning and evening. They love so big and it was hard saying good bye. I have loved spending the past month with them.

Today we left our village and headed back to Hyderabad to meet up with our squad before we fly to Nepal!  Nepal is all squad month. This means my entire squad of 48 will be together in the same place for the entire month.

Yes, I know this blog is a little random and has a little bit of everything. Go with it.

Thank you for all the prayers and comments on my blogs! I LOVE reading all of your comments- it really makes my day to hear from you! LOVE YOU ALL!
