House visits are a really cool part of the ministry we get to do here in India. We are welcomed into their homes and the pastor tells us about each family. We are able to lay hands on them to pray for healings, jobs, marriages, spiritual growth, health, etc.
Last night we visited several different houses before and after the church service. At one specific house, We were praying over a woman who is struggling with marital problems and has 2 beautiful children. She hasn’t been to church in several months. As we were praying over her , she began to break down and cry. Even though she couldn’t quite understand the words that were being spoken over her, she was able to feel the power in those words. The Holy Spirit was all over us as we prayed.
The past few weeks have been frustrating at times with the language barrier, especially when it comes to prayer. It’s hard when we don’t see immediate results. It’s hard when we can’t ask them how they are feeling or how can we pray for them specifically.
So it was amazing and beautiful to see this woman reacting in such a genuine way while we were praying over her. God was translating that prayer so she would be able to receive the truth we were speaking over her. She even came to church with us that night for the first time in months!!!
Each night at ministry is a different experience. We never quite know where we are going or what to expect, which is half the fun. We are invited into a home where we set up for church as people come in and sit down. There is anywhere from 5-30 people that come to worship Jesus. We sing songs in their language and we get to share a few songs with them as well. A crowd pleaser is ” Our God is an Awesome God”, with hand motions and all. Then someone from our team shared their testimony and another teammate shared the gospel. Afterwards, we get to pray over every single person and get to know the people of India. They are so hospitable, always feeding us and watch us eat every single bite. Every single night is different and stretching and amazing.
I’m so thankful that I get to be a part of this amazing ministry. It’s such a gift.
