Well the people have given me some questions to answer so here they are mah dudes.

“What are you doing over there?”

Currently here in Guatemala, we have been here for two months and we leave next week. Our ministry here was teaching an entry level english course. The main reason of this course was to give people of any age an opportunity to get basic english to then be able to apply for english school. That class was twice a day on Tuesday and Thursday. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday we went to a ministry down the road called Loving Arms. There we partnered along side the school and helped with whatever they needed. The first few days being there meant organizing a library and the times after that were all very different. One day we wrapped about 100 birthday presents for the kids. One day we painted a room. Another time we worked with a lot of dirt plus much more.

“What does your day look like?”

Everyday on the race looks different but I will tell you what the past 2 months have looked like. I wake up 6:30AM. I read my bible and have my Jesus time. From there I have breakfast with the squad at 7AM. 7:45AM there is a bible study. From there I go and drink a full bottle of water and then head to ministry which started at 8:30am. I have lunch around noon. I am at ministry till 4pm. Then I don’t have much to do until 5:30 which is dinner. From there my team and I either clean the floors or clean the dishes after dinner. By about 8:30/9pm I am ready to sleep but stay up chatting with my gals.

“Do you see kids daily?”

Yes, I see kiddos everyday of the week and LOVE IT!

“When do you have downtime?”

I have down time on Saturday’s which is our off day so that means we have no ministry and we can go places within the country we are in and explore. Sundays are also kind of an off day but I go to church here so I wouldn’t full consider it “downtime”. Overall Saturday is my downtime.

“Have you learned any of the language?”

si

I have learned some Khmer. The language that is spoken where we were in Cambodia. Since being in Spanish speaking countries the past 4 months I have learned a lot more Spanish as well!

“How do you connect with people over there?”

Here in Guatemala I have made many connections through different things. I have made many connections with people through our english classes as well as the Loving Arms ministry. I have also just made connections through everyday life. Talking to strangers, having conversations about why I am here in this country. I have also made connections just through the church I attend here. I have also made connections at this really cool coffee shop here in Antigua.

Truthfully just through conversations.

“Are you sharing the gospel?”

A huge thing I have learned is that being different is ok. Being the hands and feet of Jesus and sharing His love and kindness is so important everywhere you go. Acting as the Lord would act, literally being in situations where you ask yourself “what would Jesus do?” and acting in the way He would. So to answer that questions yes we have been sharing the gospel. We’ve been able to share through literally sharing about the bible and who Jesus is but we have also been able to share through how we act in public. How we treat people and love people. Praise God for His goodness. Really! Thanks Jesus

“Have you given any of your stuff away?”

More stuff than I can even remember. I have dropped so many pieces of clothing and shoes and stuff that truthfully I realized I just don’t need. I have 7 shirts and I feel like I could drop more and still have way too many. A life with only a little stuff but A LOT of Jesus is the best life I have ever lived. NO JOKE GUYS!!

“What place has been your favorite so far?”

That is a hard question. Every place so far has tugged on a different part of my heart. If i had to pick just one though I would have to say Ethiopia. HAHA…. I haven’t gotten there yet for those who don’t know but I will been there with the next week and a half and I know that will be my favorite place. Africa has a my heart fully. But for real every country has stolen a piece of my heart. Each one has been so special to me.

“Is there one person in particular that you have met on the WR that has changed you and how so?”

Physical person.. There have been so many but four specifics would be Mar, Leah, Carol and Chelly. Four women who constant point me to the Lord in every situation. Four women who I laugh with and cry with when needed. Four women who love so deeply always. They have become my best friends and I couldn’t imagine this journey without these ladies.

“Most difficult part of the WR?”

I would have to say the most difficult part is leaving. Going to a country and pouring your everything into it and all the Jesus you have into it and building relationships and making new family members. The hardest part is saying goodbye. Very bitter-sweet in those moments.

“What has been the best part of this experience?”

So many things. Everything. Growing in my relationship with Jesus. Meeting new people, loving people, serving people! I love this life so much. I couldn’t imagine it any other way.

This life is my best life and I am so thankful for everyday.

Thanks Jesus!
