Fundraising is not easy

Of course it isn’t meant to be easy but it’s one of those things that makes you rely on God like never before because I know in my own strength there is no way I could raise $15,000.

As I’ve been fundraising for this trip God keeps reminding me of how good He is. The money may not be flowing very much but He reminds me of this one specific time of how faithful He is when I get discouraged.

So the end of last April God called me to go on a mission trip to South Africa to live and work in a children’s village for a month. I would be leaving for the trip in July of 2016 right after graduation high school. I would have never thought He would call me like but that He did (and to think now He is calling me to this..WOW!)

Well, I had told my mom about the trip and about the cost of the trip and she was shocked to say the least. I had a month and a half to raise all the funds for the trip which was $6,000 dollars. My mom said “Kate if you can’t raise those funds I don’t have the money to pay for you to go” but I knew God would provide.

He is faithful

So I started to fundraise. I didn’t know what I was doing since I had never gone on a mission trip before or even tried to raise money but God knew exactly what He was doing.

As I started to fundraise I had gotten no support for anyone. I was discouraged like never before. People would tell me there’s no way I could raise that money in that amount of time. Absolutely no way and they were totally right.

I couldn’t and even if I tried today I still couldn’t but I serve a God who can.

As I continued to pray and worship God He pulled through like never before. Money started to flow in like He had just opened up the flood gates of heaven.

You wanna talk about a miracle?

In less than a month (about 28 days) I was fully funded to go South Africa.

Not at all by what I did but all by what He did

God had know right from the start that He had it all planned on how the money would be raised. He had such amazing plans for that trip. He showed up in ways like never before.

Was I worried about how the funds would come in? Sure I was. Yet even looking past all that I knew despite what the world said, despite the enemy was trying to discourage me, I knew I serve a God who provides.

He is good

He is faithful

Here I am practically a year lately fundraising to go on another mission trip to go and share His word. Here I am fundraising again but now needing about double the amount compared to last time.

Do I still get discouraged? yes I do..

And then God reminds me of the fact that He doesn’t call the equip. No, He equips the called.

I know the God that I serve. I know that He has ordained me to go on this mission trip to share about Him and who He is.

God’s power is like no other thing. Something that can conquer anything and everything.

I know on my own I can’t raise all this money but I know I serve a God who is worth it

A God who will equip me with all that I need

Thank you Lord for providing even when it doesn’t look possible

He makes all things possible
