We were unable to get wifi to post our blogs last week, so this is the one from two weeks ago!!

 Enjoy:

About two full weeks of being in a new place, it starts to feel like home. The streets to ministry are familiar and I recognize most faces of the children. I have picked up a tiny little bit of creole and it feels natural to greet people with “bonju”. You could say I’ve adjusted, which is a huge answer to prayer :  )

And speaking of answered prayer, thank you for keeping me in yours. Since the last time I posted, the Lord has already worked in my heart and life. Each morning, I ask for the Him to show up and work through me that day, and I can tell you, I have not known joy like this before. The ministry I get to participate in is wonderful and each day is full of stories. When it comes to blogging its overwhelming to document all that has happened, simply because so much happens on a daily basis. But for now, I will share a few sweet stories from the week.

On Thursdays and Fridays, we hike out to communities, split up into teams, share the gospel, and encourage anyone who wishes to talk with us. As I have mentioned in previous blogs, we always attract the attention of little ones. We don’t have to do anything; the children just come to us and follow us around. And because of this, they are hearing the gospel and the love of Christ. One little boy followed us around for over an hour as we evangelized through one community. But, at the end of the day, as we walked back to our own home, he waved us over to his house/yard where his grandfather was. He asked us to pray for his grandfather. Very simple faith. He heard what we had been saying and wanted us to share it with his grandfather. I was very touched that this little boy, no more than 8 years old would walk in such strong and childlike faith.

The next day we had a similar situation. We went to our first home of the day and met an elderly man. We prayed and talked with him, but as we said goodbye, he led us to another home of his neighbor’s. We were talking with this neighbor, when the man’s wife taps me on the shoulder. I turn around and she places a 22 day old baby into my arms. He was so precious and small. And my sister just recently gave birth to her second child, Cason David Herold, while I was on the race. So, this was a sweet surprise to get to hold a baby very close in age to my new nephew back at home. We talked to the mother of the baby and got to pray over her. Then we got to pray over this new born, and invite the Lord to work in powerful ways in this child’s life as he grows up. Our friend then showed us around the rest of our day there, taking us to his neighbors he wanted to hear from us. We got to encourage him for having such strong faith and sharing with others.

Every day is very full, but I hope this gives a tiny taste of the last few days: ) thank you all for reading, God bless!

While I wrote this a while ago, we are actually leaving Haiti on Wednesday and your prayers would be much appreciated for those busy travel days. Some fun news is that one of our flights from Haiti to Africa is through the US!! We will be flying into New York, then to Qatar, and then to South Africa. We will have long layovers and many time changes, so if you could pray that everything will go smoothly, my team and I would love that. Thanks everyone: ) I miss yall a lot and love yall a lot.
