I’m about to embark on one of the craziest adventures of my life and I am excited and nervous but ready to throw my whole self into this journey. But, my heart hurts for everyone that I am leaving behind. So this is for you- friends, family, supporters, and everyone else I love and care about who is staying home.

To the People I am Leaving Behind,

Know that I love you and care about you so much.

Know that I would never have made it here without you.

Know that I will be sad to miss the birthdays, weddings, new jobs, and graduate school acceptances but that I am so happy for you.

Know that even though I am a world away, I am proud of all you accomplish this year.

Know that I wish I could give you a hug when you’re upset or laugh with you when you’re happy.

Know that when I miss home, it won’t be the air conditioning or the food that I miss most, it will be you.

Know that it is not easy to be away from you, that there will be days when I miss you and want to go home.

Know that we may not talk for weeks, months, or even the entire time that I am gone but that doesn’t change the way I feel about you.

Know that even if I am not able to respond, I greatly appreciate every comment and every message I get from you and these are the things that will get me through the hard days.

Know that I pray for you.

Know that I pray you find love, guidance, and support in Jesus because He loves and cares about you more than I ever could.

Thank you for supporting me and loving me. Drink a Dr. Pepper and eat some pizza for me.

I love you,

Kaitlyn
