Happy Easter everybody! I hope your day is full of beautiful reminders about our Lord and His perfect love!
We all know the Easter story and how on a Friday 2,000 years ago Jesus was beaten and then hung up on a cross to suffer for hours and, eventually, die up there for every one of us. And then 3 days later, rise again to show us He’s beaten sin. And, I’m realizing now how stale this story has become to me. I’ve heard this said at least a million times and it’s lost it’s luster. But, it’s something the Lord has been redeeming for me the last few days. He gave His son to this torn apart world to be ridiculed, to suffer, and to die. Now, think about when a death occurs in a family or to someone you’re close to. It’s excruciatingly painful, you shared life with them, they had a family and community of people that loved them so much, and now they’re gone. Now, think about the Savior of the World, who loves you more than anybody else possible can, carrying His cross (after He’s been flogged) to be hung on it, so that you could have the OPTION of accepting His love. He’s not even going to try to force it down your throat, he just wanted to give you the opportunity to accept or deny.
THAT’S PERFECT LOVE!!!
That’s the love He just wants our hearts to accept and enjoy.
Christianity was never promised to be easy, but it sure is worth it. To be loved by Him and know that, is worth everything He asks me to do. At the end of the day, I’m giving up my life for His glory, so that more people can know this perfect love. And I hope that never changes in me.

On this Easter Sunday, I encourage you to go listen to these two songs and think about the sacrifice He made for you specifically:
