Sorry about the lack of blogs! So here’s an update of what’s been happening!

We made it to India about 2 weeks ago! We are located in Manipur, India. When looking at a map, we’re in the part of India that looks like it’s disconnected and is squished between Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Bhutan. This region is nothing like the India we hear about in the States, and nothin like I was expecting. It’s mild weather and rains quite a bit and gets pretty chilly at night. The people here look more Chinese/Thai than Indian and they don’t speak Hindi, they speak several different dialects of Hmar. Hmar sounds similar to Mandarin. And it’s been really cool to embrace this culture specific to this region.

What has my ministry looked like you might ask. Well, over the last week and a half, we were preparing for and helping host a medical camp in partnership with Project C.U.R.E. We spent the last week at the hospital with a group of doctors from the US. We mainly directed the people where to go and helped them find there way around and entertained them as they sat in line. It was a really cool week and it was awesome to see the ways we could spread joy and light even in little interactions. This week, we’ve been working with the school and attended their graduation on Saturday (3/24/18). We’re also helping with a rehabilitation center, and building a chapel. So, there’s lots going on!

Some awesome things that have happened/I’ve seen:
Today, while helping a teacher in her classroom, she was telling me about how she has to announce everything in 3 different languages because she has kids who know each and don’t know any other. And that blew my mind.
There are some powerful thunderstorms here, last night, the lightning would flash so vibrantly and then a low rumble would start and then BAM the thunder was here. You could feel it rattling the ground and windows. As scared as I am of thunderstorms, it is really awesome to be reminded of God’s glory and power!!
The flowers here are beautiful! We have to walk a few minutes up a hill to go to meals and there are quite lovely flowers and nature in general during the walk.
Cows! They’re are just random, sweet cows on the road sometimes!

That’s all I have for today! I’ll be updating you guys again soon! Thanks for reading!
