Have you ever been talking to somebody and they keep looking past you or over your shoulder? And they just look like they would way rather be talking to somebody else. Don’t you hate that? In those moments I always just feel so awkward because they obviously are not interested in what I have to say but I want them to be, ya know? Plus, when that happens I always just feel so unloved and not important. And, depending on the person & situation,this often hurts the relationship between me and whoever the other person is. If it’s someone I know really well, it’s just frustrating, but if it’s someone I just met, I probably won’t seek them out again because I didn’t feel like they wanted to talk me in the first place and I don’t want to feel awkward again. I think we’ve all experienced people like this, they just won’t focus on what you want to say and it’s aggravating.
And ya know the craziest thing EVER, the Lord is never like this! He ALWAYS wants to hear what we have to say, He doesn’t always respond, but He always hears and listens. He always wants to know how we’re feeling and what’s new with us. This is something I struggle with believing simply because this is not how humans function. We get distracted, we forget, and sometimes we just don’t have the capacity to care. Sometimes it is so hard to believe that the Lord is always listening, especially when I don’t hear an answer. But, something I’ve come to realize, is that it’s up to me to choose this relationship, because He will always choose me. That’s it, that’s the end. No ifs, ands, or buts. He will ALWAYS choose me and you. He doesn’t have distractions, He won’t forget, and He will never stop caring about every little detail. He wants to be integrated into every part of our day, we just have to let Him be there. This is an insane God we serve, and I hope some of you needed this incredible reminder!
