Psalm 96:2-4: Sing to the LORD; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods.
This verse is exactly why I am going on a 9 month mission trip. I cannot wait to share His story with people who don’t know Him! God has called me to share overseas through serving the community and loving the people in the countries my team visits. God is going to do amazing things through this journey and through the squad I’m going with!
Sooo, let me tell you how I found this trip. Actually let me back up a little. I have always felt unsettled. I felt like school was a waste of time when there were so many hurting people in the world and me learning about the Byzantine Empire and Geometry Theorems was just so useless. I should’ve been out saving lives and working with people less fortunate than me! I have felt this way since around my sophomore year of high school and the feeling grew when I started applying for college. As I was applying to different places, I did not want to go to any of them or go to four more years of school. But, I had to go to college to make a living so, I’m in college at Liberty University, which has been awesome! I love LU and my hall and my roommates (Shoutout to Tiffany and Ava), and God has blessed me abundantly when it comes to college! Anyway, at the beginning of the school year, I asked God to finally let me feel settled. So, I made up my mind to be content after years of wanting to leave. Then, at the beginning of November, I was scrolling through Facebook and saw an ad for the World Race, which had never popped up before. I almost immediately started crying, not even knowing what the World Race was. I had to click on it after that kind of reaction. I knew after 5 minutes of being on the website that this is something I wanted to do. I prayed about it through the weekend and God confirmed this is something I should apply for. Since then, I’ve just been so excited to get accepted! Then last Thursday(11/17/16), I got a call, during my math class, that I was accepted! I think my class could hear me through the wall because I was so excited!
I am thrilled to begin this journey and would appreciate everyone’s prayers as I fundraise and prepare for this trip! Thank you all so so much!
