Here’s a fun quick blog about what Ministry can often look like on the World Race experience. Simply it’s building relationships with people to share our life and love in hopes people see Jesus.
We our finishing up our debrief here in Tivat, Montenegro. We have been re-focusing and sharing stories. We have been reading the Bible and worshipping and praying through song. Jesse and I have watched much World Cup! Go Mexico!!!! So it’s been really fun and eventful. Me and the squad just hanging out in the common room at the Anton Hostal. People were chatting it up and eating and a girl named Rebecca asked if she could join us. We delightful agreed. So immediately she’s asking questions and we are asking questions back. Vanessa, Jesse and I were central to the conversations then people got up and we moved to a different area but still talking. At this point Vanessa left and Christazia joined. We were getting to know about her life. She’s from Germany and a pilot conductor person. She helped make sure the planes would leave and come back effectively. Super sweet girl. Well as the conversion was going I wanted to leave and go to bed but I felt God nudge me and was reminded of Jesus.. He would stop and build relationship with people. I really didn’t have an excuse to leave so I stayed and we talked more and it was great. After awhile I felt it was time for bed. Well before I went I just felt God say give her something and I realized well I can give her prayer. So I asked if I could pray for her and she was confused and embarrassed because she didn’t really understand. Come to find out she told us she had never been asked for prayer. So she didn’t have anything. I assured her that’s okay and no worries. I didn’t push. I said well it was great to meet you. Save travels and goodnight. I went to bed feeling I did my part in being obedient to what God was doing. Although I know Christazia was still there so I prayed for something to stir up in their time. A couple days later I found out, she had kept conversation with Chris and asked for prayer and actually exchanged contacts. And she was super encouraged.
This girl left to go back home hearing about Jesus and being prayed for while building new friends. A seed was planted and sometimes that’s all God ever asks of us to do. He does the changing. It’s our job to love. Life is about loving God and people and it looks different every time but the message is still the same.
“We love because He first loved us.” 1 John
Life is ministry and ministry is life. Hopefully in all that we do, we are giving God glory and building relationships with people. Hopefully the Kingdom of God is growing because of what we do. Whether in word or deed.
So be encouraged today and maybe there’s 1 person God purposely has put you in their path? God leaves the 99 for 1. Will we leave our plans and our 99 for the 1?
