October 10th: The day we officially left. The day started off at 12am with me finishing up laundry and packing everything I needed at the hotel we stayed at for launch. We were all packed and ready to go at 1:30am and travel day began. We left the hotel for the Atlanta airport and had our first flight to New York where we had a 13.5 hour layover. That was painfully long but we took time there to get to know each other better, play games, reach out to family and friends and get some must needed rest. At 10:05pm we finally left New York and we where bound for Norway for our last stop before Serbia. This was easily the nicest plane I’ve ever been on. The windows didn’t have shutters, instead they had dimmers. You could adjust how much light came in through the window by pressing a button. Apparently we were the first passengers ever on the plane (which was both cool and concerning at the same time haha). Also, it was on this flight where I recorded my last blog where I became overwhelmed with emotion about all the support from you all back home.
I’d like to thank Mr. Spangler for sponsoring this day Oct. 10th. Though nothing sounding too crazy happened on this day that you sponsored , you sponsored the day that was start the craziness and the day where I finally realized how real this all is. Thank you for being a part of it.
Since then we have gotten to our host here and it’s been simply amazing. I’m loving it here so much. I will write another blog in the near future with more details on how ministry here is going and how it all looks.
Stay tuned for more updates and if you have interest in sponsoring a day yourself that would be greatly appreciated as I still have a decent amount to fundraise. On whatever days are sponsored I will write a blog about that day so whoever sponsored that day will know how their partnership with me has helped fund my ability to serve God here impact the community I’m a part of on that date. I will try my best to post it soon after the day occurs. The average cost of this trip breaks down to equaling about $50 a day. If you would like to partner with me through donation and sponsor a day by submitting a $50 donation, you can do so by donating here on this blog and then click on this link
When you sponsor a child it not only provides a hot meal, clean water, discipleship, and basic medical care for the child, it also supports their family by inviting them through the gates of the CarePoint to receive training, discipleship and mentorship.
