Spent all day coming up with feedback for my team. It’s a weekly thing we are supposed to do, but is so difficult to think of things. I suggested that we try to also come up with something for ourselves. After all, the Holy Spirit convicts us of things we know we need to work on. Now, when we catch each other on the things we said we wanted to work on, we have a code word. Gonna keep that word secret.
The highlight of the day was Matt’s talk. He asked which topic we wanted to learn on, and we landed on emotions with a vote. Thankfully, it wasn’t really at all about how we feel. Instead, Matt went into how emotions are more like a result of what we desire combined with our perspectives. By using emotions, you can figure out if your desires are ungodly or if your perspective is flawed. The example he gave is that the desire for marriage is alright, but if you act entitled to it, you’ll be arrogant. If you seem pressured into it, you may feel bitter. But if you are ready for it to be there for someone, you may be feel excited for it. He also went over how you can find patterns in decisions, desires, and perspectives through how some things have made you feel, and how some people may have desires based off of things in their past. Ended up spending a couple hours processing a bunch of stuff. Lot’s of patterns I would like to change in my life that have been going on for a while.
