Last day in the Valley. Packed up in the morning to get that out of the way so I could enjoy the rest of the day. David and Scarleth left around 10 in the morning, so we got to say goodbye to them and not them to us. Was a bit odd, but I think it makes things easier.

Picked up a ton of T-shirts! Now I have more than just my 3 gray ones, and I will be so styling. Good thing I packed a big airporter because my bag is not at all big enough to hold all the small things I picked up in my time here in Honduras. Will be sorting those things out at debrief.

Headed out to Pollolandia one last time, and hammocked one last time by the river. Even amidst a time of political turmoil, this place had such a peaceful and serene atmosphere that I don’t want to leave behind. However, as a way of saying goodbye, I dug out the fire pit back at home like we did the first day we showed up. Had so many nights when we would sit out by the fire and listen to David impart some wisdom, so many of our meals cooked there when there was a lot of food to make or if the power was out, and I couldn’t tell you how many spare fireworks have been thrown in there and have gone off without notice in the middle of enjoying silence. I think I will remember that fire pit very well in the future.
