It’s easy to love and trust God, but what about people? People are always changing, God is always the same. People lie, God always tells truth. People have a sinful nature, but God is only good.

At launch, everyone was given a key. The key has a word on it that the staff prayed over to best fit who it would go to, and my word was trust. I do not trust easily, so the key is appropriate. In the short bit of this trip I’ve been on, I have been praying over this key as I know it is something to work on. I can trust my God, but why should I trust these people I’m on this trip with? By their very nature, shouldn’t I be cautious of them?

I know one extremely good reason why I should trust these people. God does. For whatever reason, God has these people here. In some way, He trusts them to do his will, and to be a representative of His love to the nations. It’s why He called me too. So even though I keep coming up with reasons to not trust these people, I continually need to remind myself that God has something for them that I need to open my eyes to.

So, I ask of this prayer request. That I might be able to trust those whom God has called on this journey with me. To take it a step deeper, I not only want to trust these people, but I want to learn to love them.

Trust comes because you can value a person, which is also to love them.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
