Hello!

Today is my last day in Malaysia. We leave tomorrow it’s a few bus rides on our way to Chiangmai! I cannot believe how fast this month went. I have loved it here in Penang. We have been living in this neighborhood about 20 minutes from town.

We have been connected it’s PenHOP, Penang House of Prayer. We spent 3 days a week there. On mondays we would come in the afternoon to join in a prayer walk, then we would do housekeeping of the place, then for a couple hours we do our own devotion, personal quiet time. Then for an hour we gather together in small group prayer. There is usually a topic and we all take turns praying for that topic. Topics would include, Malaysia, the upcoming election, great commision, body of Christ, church.

Tuesdays we would head in the am for a morning session/teaching. Then from 3-10 we have prayer and worship. Different sets of prayer and worship was done throughout those 7 hours. My favorite one was open mic prayer. It was overwhelming at first but then it’s just really cool. So there is always music playing from the band. we have a topic, people take turns finding a bible passage related to that topic, we speak into the microphone the Bible passage and then we pray about that. Then when you’re done, there are singers who will come up with a chorus and echo what you just prayed. It’s a lot going on but I definetly feel the Holy Spirit’s presence during this time.

Fridays we would come in for another session, then from 8pm to midnight e have Friday night burn. The first hour is devotion time and then 3 hours of worship.

The other to days we got to work at a school and help tutor kids one on one with reading. I really enjoyed being here, the kiddos were so cute! It was fun to be there.

I really learned how powerful prayer can be. Sometimes I felt at times this month that I wasn’t doing anything but then got some words from some squadmates and others I had been praying for, then I was like wow I’ve been praying for that all month! There is power in prayer!

As far as fun days I was able to spend a day going to the national park, (worlds smallest national park actually) do a small hike and spend some time on the beach. Then I attended a bible conference to hear from a pastor from Australia. He really taught me some different perspectives on the parables. Then we spent our last weekend at a water park, it was so much fun and felt nice to just have a day of fun and rest at the same time!

that is what I’ve been up to for the last month! Thank you so much for all of your support and prayers!

I have two squadmates who are so so so close to raising all their funds to be able to finish the race all together! If you have any way you can help them, any amount of donation is always appreciated!
