Brave: having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty; having or showing courage.
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not comanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”
We each received a key necklace and was prayed over and I received the word Brave. I thought about it and I realize that I let God have total control over preparing and fundraising for this trip. I had no worries and never once wondered, How am I going to raise $18,000. But I noticed I let that faith lean back a bit going into the actual race.
I leave tomorrow like in 6 hours to fly to Guatemala! I am beyond excited and thankful for everyone who has donated and supported this trip. I cannot wait to share all the stories with you. I just need to remember that God is always by my side. For me going on this trip is Brave for me. I love that I get to be a role model for my younger cousins and hope they one day take a trip and walk in life with the Lord.
I also need to bring back that total faith I had in God for preparing for this trip and being able carry that through this next 11 months. Everything WILL be ok. It will all work out for the good.
As far as the past 4 days in Atlanta, I have been doing specific training regarding finances. If you don’t know, I am treasurer of my team in which I am in charge of lots of money at a time to pay and budget for my teams’ food, lodging, transportation, supplies, communication, etc. it is so much more than I realize that I will be in charge of, but I feel as the frugal, cheap girl I already am, that God has been preparing me for this role long before I knew I would be in charge of something like this. I’m excited to be treasurer and I think I’m going to learn a lot. I always come up with new questions everyday regarding finance, but tomorrow I start it for real and I know I can do it.
We have also been working with our squad and teams with different sessions and exercises to make sure we can be the best team for our hosts and to bring everyone we meet into the Kingdom of God.
Well I’ll post as often, but decided that I’d post again before I take off. Love everyone and thanks so much for loving me and supporting me. Go Guatemala ????!!!!! Adios!
