Hey everyone! Ministry and Squad Leader training have been so good this month. I have been working with team Jubilee (see my last blog post for a cover we did of one of our favorite worship songs!) and we worked in an English Cafe. Here in Vietnam, English Cafe’s are HUGE opportunities for ministry and evangelism. We have talked and met with tons of students. We meet them at English Club time, then invite them to do things with us in town so we can evangelize. It’s awesome.
It has also been really cool to see how much of a ministry ESL (English as a Second Language) really is around the world. My college degree is Education and ESL, so I think that the Lord has been stirring something in my heart for the parents of ESL students back home. Maybe an English Club back in the US? I don’t know yet. I’m still praying into it.
But, one really cool thing that happened this month is I finished reading the Bible!! I have been reading it ever since I was young, but never cover to cover. There are so many things in the Old Testamanet that I never read. I started reading it cover to cover and it took me about 2 years, but I did it! Highly Reccomend it. Spoiler Alert: Jesus wins.
It was so beautiful to read through all of it and see how the Lord has been making a way for us from the beginning. When we were lawlesss, He gave us the Law to make us aware of our sin and our need for Him. Then, when we couldn’t measure up to the law, He sent Jesus. And all throughout, the Old Testament builds up to the coming of Jesus. Jesus’ characteristics are woven into the story of Abraham leaving his home, Abraham and Issac, Moses leading the pepole, David as the King, Esther fighting for her people, Boaz caring for Ruth, the prophets calls to redemption, the life in the dry bones- THE CHARACTER OF THE FATHER is woven into all of it!!
And then, the New Testament brings it, obviously.
Love. Creation. Sin. Provision. Rescue. Sacrifice. Promise. Protection. Deliverance. Healing. Instruction. Presence. Forgiveness. Redemption. Grace. Mercy. Pursuit. Power. Authority. Faith. Transformation. Victory. Eternity.
This is their story. And becuase we have been adopted as sons and daughters of God, co-heirs with Jesus, it is our story too.
