Well, as the race draws near, I am starting to realize how small a backpack really is. And I’ll be living out of this for a year!?! I’m going to need to pray over this loaves and fish style. Lord, please multiply this space!
I got my sleeping bag in the mail this week and furiously unwrapped it. And it definitely passes the comfort and warmth test! But, it is a little fluffier than I expected…
I decided to go ahead and try to fit it in my pack. I squeezed. I stuffed. I sat on it to zip it. I stood on it in my pack to try to stuff it down to no avail.
As I sat on the couch looking at it, and sweating from all that work, I noticed a little lesson hidden in this moment.
There is no way to hide your sin from Abba. He sees everything and no matter how hard to squeeze, stuff, or try to hide it away, it’ll come exploding out. And leave you exhausted and sweaty. We can try our best to hide our sin or keep it behind a mask, but Jesus is the only one who can cleanse us. Jesus casts sin into the depths of the sea! Our desperate attempts to hide sin and handle it ourselves will NEVER compare to His power, authority, love, and grace. He has victory over sin and chains. His victory lasts forever and that makes me want to sing!
O God, you know my folly; the wrongs I have done are not hidden from you.
-Psalm 69:5
As I prepare for the race, one of my biggest challenges is fundraising. Please prayerfully consider partnering with me! Also, please pray for me and my team as we prepare to leave in August. Thanks for reading!!
