“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,and shall call his name Immanuel.”

-Isaiah 7:14

Today is a beautiful day.  It is a crucial chapter in the story of God’s redemption.  He sent His Son- His one, and only son- to save us from our sins and make a way for us to be with Him.

I love the Christmas story.  I love candlelight services. I love reading Luke 2.  At this time of year, I see people all around connecting to Baby Jesus.  The one who came, in swaddling cloth, to us.  The Prince of Heaven incarnated on Earth.

But, the beauty of His story stretches farther than Luke 2.  It stretches to His perfect life, miracles, teaching, and resurrection.  His life filled with all authority.   His life that would perfectly reflect the Father’s love, grace, and redemption for us.

Let us be grateful for the birth of our savior.  Let us be grateful for His life, His death, and His resurrection.  Let us abide in his full, encapsulating love.  Every day is Christmas for us, because every day, our Father comes to meet us where we are.  He comes to us to wrap us in His deep, compassionate, and steady love.  He is Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.  This High King came to Earth as a baby so that He could die to make us free.  He came to earth so we could be called sons and daughters.  He makes every day merry and bright.

O come, let us adore Him.
