Did you know that sequoia trees have to endure an extremely harsh winter in order to flourish? These trees grow up to 250 feet tall and 30 feet wide, and in order to get there they have to go through a tough season. Sequoia trees are some of the biggest trees in the world and are known for their beauty and size.
These trees remind me of Jesus. In order to be glorified throughout the world He had to go through a brutal season of pain and sorrow. A few verses I’ve been meditating on these past couple of weeks are Romans 8:15-17. In verse 17 it says, “and if children, then heirs–heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.” It says it right here! We will suffer, but because of the One True King we get to flourish with Him sticking right by our side.
If you’re in a season of pain right now and don’t understand or see where exactly God has his hand, I want to encourage you with another few verses. Ephesians 2:5-7. Go read them!
Much love, Jess
